As we close on our 9 th annual book bag fundraiser, we reflect on the incredible support
and generosity that has defined this initiative over the years. With the unwavering help
of our clients, family, and friends we have been able to make a meaningful impact in our
community by collecting hundreds of book bags and countless school supplies for those
in need at our local domestic violence shelter.
It all began over a decade ago when I had the privilege of meeting Mary, a woman
whose heartfelt explanation resonated deeply with me. Mary shared with me that
without community support, many children would return to school carrying their
belongings in nothing more than a trash bag. This was the stark reality that launched
our annual book bag fundraiser.
This year we took our fundraiser to new heights by hosting an Open house at our salon
on August 31 st . Our mission has always been to support children in our community who
need a helping hand as they embark on a new school year. We have seen first-hand the
impact that your generosity has had on countless of children.
We couldn’t have achieved this without each one of you. Your contributions-whether it
was a single book bag or school supplies- have touched the lives of many. From the
bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this beautiful tradition and for helping
us create a brighter future for the children in the community.
